Welcome to the Hanover Area Food Shelf!

March is MN Foodshare Month!  It is a time when nearly every food shelf in the state makes an all-out effort to raise as much food and money as possible as the financial support we will receive from Hunger Solutions later in the year will be determined in a large part by the amount of food and funds we raise in March. We need your help!!

Families who use the Food Shelf can come in once a calendar month.   Our goal is to provide a three meal per day, four-day supply of food.  

We also invite all clients to come on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the end of the day (from 1:30pm – 1:50pm) to pick up additional produce and bakery in addition to normal visits.

After signing in, families then fill out a grocery list which in turn our volunteers “shop” from shelves and pack in boxes and bags. All items that are distributed must be weighed.

Thanks to many generous donors, not only do we have dry goods, but dairy items, bakery goods and meat.

We are also fortunate to provide personal items such as shampoo, toothpaste and laundry detergent.
